Having moved to the US in August 2019 it came with many challenges! The area we wanted to live in had little rental opportunity and through extensive research we had already found the home we wanted to purchase. Moving from the UK with excellent credit history to a new country with absolutely zero history where even getting a phone was extremely difficult you can imagine what it would be like to get a mortgage. I had spoken to 2 other bank lenders and both had quoted me mortgage rates in the realms of 5.75 to 6.25% which was in my view crazy but thinking it was the norm started to work on these numbers. Coming from the UK where a mortgage and house sale can take as much as 16 weeks – Brian had this all completed within 5 weeks and we signed September 30th without any problems.
